Wow, I don’t remember much about this book, but I must have really liked it to give it a 5 star rating! Obviously, I love zombies so this really shouldn’t be a surprise. Also, this book is in translation so points for a self-published book to get into my hands.
Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End by Manel Loureiro
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
*Spoilers* I think the format of this book is really smart. And it fits with the character. I’m so happy the cat survived! The translation was not stiff and the writing was very smooth. The survival aspect of the novel was very real. I could follow his movements easily. I gasped, laughed, and felt the joy the character experienced when he found other survivors. Honestly I was scared at some points, like when he went to land with the Ukrainians and Pakistani’s, that was intense and it gave a unique view into the transformation. I feel like it has a good resolution as well, it’s hopeful, which is starting to me as a reader.
